This young athlete has substantial social media audience
Kai Trump can count on numerous high-profile supporters as she begins her first LPGA appearance later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to Donald Trump, received a tournament invitation to play at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, operates numerous courses worldwide and frequently matches against Kai.
"He's pretty good. I can't reveal details but we have tight competitions," she mentioned.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, who cannot attend, told her: "Just stay calm."
"He basically advised me to play and enjoy myself," she explained.
"From my perspective, he's simply a regular grandfather. He won't be there for the tournament. He's focused on world affairs, making him rather occupied."
While still amateur, the golfer has participated in a mere three competitions this year and has ranking 461 in the American Junior Golf Association listings.
Yet she's able to receive tips from Tiger Woods, in a relationship with Kai's mother.
"He is the greatest golfer worldwide," the young golfer said.
"Furthermore, he's a superior human being. He told me to compete, have fun, adapting to whatever happens."
She'll challenge several top competitors in professional golf at this tournament, featuring world number two Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
Officials commented that her participation exposes the sport to new audiences, particularly among the next generation.
The young star boasts substantial online presence and has started an exclusive fashion and living company.
Her first tee time at 17:30 GMT.
