The Belarusian player concluded the tour with an outstanding twenty-three to three Grand Slam win-loss record.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second consecutive year.

The 27-year-old secured four tournament victories – the most on tour – including retaining the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles title.

A Season of Consistency

Across the season, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine finals, with defeats coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The star player also triumphed at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the whole season as the top-ranked player, concluding 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.

In July, she achieved the status of being the first player to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.

Record-Breaking Numbers

Sabalenka ended the competitive year with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and collected a record £11m in earnings.

She garnered nearly eighty percent of the votes submitted by international tennis media.

Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match in a bid to "help bring women's tennis to a higher level".
