A plane ferrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, as stated by an official statement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft landed based on standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, such as Pete Hegseth, is unharmed," a press officer commented in a online announcement.
He was traveling back from a short visit to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.
This occurrence is not the initial instance that a US military aircraft carrying a high-ranking official has encountered equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a American military jet transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Munich was forced to return to the US capital after encountering a mechanical problem.
