David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

The comedian

Best-selling young adult author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the publisher commented: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was reached following an review of claims about questionable actions directed at female individuals.

The company did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles combined, which features a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
