British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Healing from Light Wounds

The sports star had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his management team had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.

Honoring the Deceased

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital comes as the boxing community had expressed condolences for the fighter in the aftermath of the heartbreaking incident.
